Обзор литературы посвящен применению тонкоигольной аспирационной биопсии (ТАБ) в диагностике узловых образований щитовидной железы. Использование новой классификационной системы интерпретации результатов ТАБ позволяет значительно увеличить воспроизводимость данного метода и существенно сократить число ложноотрицательных результатов. Представлены современные данные об эпидемиологии узловых образований, новой системе интерпретации цитологических заключений ТАБ, проведена оценка роли ТАБ в динамическом наблюдении доброкачественных образований щитовидной железы.

The role of fineneedle aspiration biopsy in the dynamic monitoring of patients with nodular goiter

Review of the literature devoted to the relevance of fineneedle aspiration biopsy in the diagnosis of thyroid nodules. Application of the new classification system, the interpretation of FNA can significantly increase the reproducibility of the method and reduce the number of falsenegative results. This review summarizes recent data on the epidemiology of thyroid nodules, new system of the interpretation of FNA cytology findings, the role of FNA in the dynamic monitoring of benign tumors of thyroid gland.
