Aneurysm of Vertebrobasilar Vessels, Revealed at MRI (A Case Report)

We describe a case of application of MRI at 19 years old female patient directed to the examination aimed to exclude brain pathology because of a persistent headache. Time of flight MR-angiography of Will's circle revealed a lack of a distal segment of the left vertebral artery and a hypoplasia of the right. A connection between vertebral and basilar arteries was lost. The conclusion was made – a thrombosed aneurysm of the distal segment of vertebral arteries with spreading to the proximal part of the basilar artery. The diagnosis was confirmed by digital subtraction angiography.
